Overview:
This article explains Domain Validation (DV) and different methods of DV Sectigo offers.
Domain Control Validation:

A Domain Control Validation (DCV) is used by the Certificate Authority (e.g., Sectigo) before issuing any type of SSL certificate (Domain Validation (DV), Organization Validation (OV), or Extended Validation (EV)).

DCV is used to verify whether the person making the request is authorized to use the domain in request.

Only the domain owner or someone authorized by the domain owner may validate DCV with Sectigo.
Four methods of DCV are:
1. Email Based
2. DNS CNAME based
3. HTTP/HTTPS hashing methods
4. DNS TXT
Choosing DCV method involves below Steps:
Step:1 After Order is placed, Customer should Click on “Setup” button to Submit “Certificate Signing Request” (CSR).
Step:2 After pasting CSR in the space provided, Customer Should click on “CONTINUE TO DOMAIN VALIDATION” Button.
Step:3 After submitting CSR, Customer must choose any one of the three DCV methods provided by Sectigo Web Interface to validate their domain and click on “CONTINUE” button.
Step 4: Sectigo conducts domain ownership verification in accordance with the Domain Control Validation (DCV) method selected by the customer prior to initiating subsequent procedures.
