Scope:
This procedure is based on Microsoft® Word for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2510 Build 16.0.19328.20244) 64-bit. The procedure may differ for other Microsoft Office versions.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure you have the following:

A valid document signing certificate (e.g., Sectigo ) is stored on a token.

Ability to access the token and password.

Microsoft Word installed on your computer.
Procedure To sign a Word document

Insert the token containing your Sectigo Document Signing certificate into a USB port on your computer.

In your Word document, select File > Info.

Select Protect Document > Add a Digital Signature.

In the Sign dialog:

Select the Commitment Type.

Enter a purpose for signing the document.

Click Details to enter information about who you are (title and location). This information will become part of your signature.

Click Change to select your Entrust document signing certificate, if it does not appear in the bottom panel.

Click Sign.

Provide your token password if requested.

If the Request Permission to use a key dialog appears, select Grant permission, then click OK.

Word signs the document and displays a success message.
Verification
To confirm that the process was successful, go to File > Info > View Signatures. Word will display the signature details and a success message.
