VMWare ESXI 6.7 Windows Server 2016 SafeNet Client

Overview

Use this procedure when a SafeNet or Aladdin Knowledge Token JC USB token cannot be connected to a Windows Server 2016 virtual machine hosted on VMware ESXi 6.7.

A CCID device uses the Chip Card Interface Device USB protocol, which allows a smart card to connect to a computer through a standard USB interface.

Error Message

When attempting to connect the USB token to the virtual machine, ESXi may display an error similar to the following:

1Failed to reconfigure virtual machine Win10x64

2. Cannot connect 'vid:0529 pid:0620 path:0/1/7/1' to this virtual machine.
