How to Start Extended Validation Process in SCM - Sectigo Certificate Manager

The following is required before EV validation can start:

  1. The EV Anchor Certificate type associated to the customer account

  2. Access to a tool or WebServer to generate a CSR request

 Generate CSR

To start the Extended Validation process, a CSR needs to be generated and submitted to SCM. The validation will be performed against the specific organization within a customer’s account.

Please choose a desired platform to generate a CSR request (IIS, OpenSSL, Java KeyTool, etc.). When generating a CSR, the CN should be for a domain that is already delegated and DCV’d. Below is an example:

  • O=Comodo CA Ltd

  • OU=IT

  • L=Ottawa

  • ST=Ontario

  • C=CA

Once the CSR is generated, copy the CSR request, and start the process Extended Validation process.
