How to disable ChangeAlert notification emails in CodeGuard

Overview

By the end of this article, you will have stopped ChangeAlert notification emails from being sent for your website. The article explains what a ChangeAlert notification email is, lists what you need before you start, walks through the three steps in the CodeGuard dashboard — opening the Settings tab, choosing the email notification preference, and saving the change — and shows how to confirm the change was saved. It also explains how to apply the same preference to multiple websites from your account settings.

What is a ChangeAlert notification email?

A ChangeAlert notification email is an automatic message that CodeGuard sends when it detects a change in the files or database of a monitored website. Disabling these emails stops the messages but does not stop CodeGuard from monitoring or backing up the website.

Prerequisites

An active CodeGuard account with sign-in credentials.
At least one website already added to the CodeGuard dashboard.
Permission to change settings for the website you want to modify.

Steps

Step 1 — Open the website settings

Step 2 — Turn off the email notifications

In the Email Notifications section, select No, do not send me email notifiers.

Step 3 — Save the change

Select the Update Settings button inside the Email Notifications section. The change applies only after you select this button.

How to verify success

Return to the Settings tab for the same website and open the Email Notifications section. The option No, do not send me email notifiers remains selected, which confirms that ChangeAlert notification emails are disabled for that website.

Apply the change to multiple websites

If you need the same preference on more than one website, open your CodeGuard account settings and update the email notification preference there. The account settings page applies the preference across the websites on your account, so you do not have to repeat the three steps for each website individually.
