Overview:
This article shows how to create a CNAME record for DCV.
DNS CNAME:

DNS CNAME-based (DCV) requires the creation of a unique CNAME record, that points back to Sectigo.

CNAME record should be created on the Public DNS Server of the domain.

We look for the CNAME record on every possible level of FQDN to Validate.
Steps to follow:

If you have ordered your certificate from sectigo.com, The hash values are calculated and displayed through the Sectigo web interface after completing Setup.

If you have ordered your certificate through different channel, Find the Validation Manager link in your order confirmation email.
The format of the CNAME record will be:
Hostname: _MD5-HASH-VALUE-OF-CSR.yourdomain.tld.
Type: CNAME
Value: SHA256-Hash-First-32.SHA256-Hash-Last-32.[UNIQUE-VALUE].sectigo.com.
The CSR Hash values can be found on your sectigo portal through the ‘Check Status’ button. If you have ordered the certificate from one of our partners, please try to find the ‘Validation Manager’, where you can find the details.
Click on “CHECK STATUS” button to redirect to a new webpage where you can find the Values for Domain Control Validation.
Click on “Show Alternative DCV information” to find the CSR Hashs and formatted CNAME record, HTTP text file values
Click on CNAME CSR HASH tab to see the CNAME record values to be created on DNS Server.
<uniqueValue> will be generated when a key is reused more than one time for ordering / reissuing a new certificate.
Example CNAME record:
Name: _c7fbc2039e400c8ef74129ec7db1842c.example.com.
Type: CNAME
Value:c9c863405fe7675a3988b97664ea6baf.442019e4e52fa335f406f7c5f26cf14f.sectigo.com.
